The Grand Traverse Mountain Run is a point-to-point ultra marathon from Crested Butte to Aspen, Colorado. The course follows the route of the Grand Traverse Backcountry Ski race. In total, runners travel 40 miles across the Elk Mountains with over 6,000′ of elevation gain.

Due to the many uncertainties associated with the ongoing pandemic, we will delay the opening of 2021 Summer GT registration until the Spring. We expect event planning can proceed with more confidence at that time. Keep an eye on GT email updates, or check back in the spring for a link to register here.

Grand Traverse Triple Crown
Individuals who will be, or have completed the 2021 GT Ski, may enter themselves into the 2021 Triple Crown competition by registering as a Dual Sport competitor through either online summer registrations. Please reference your Ski confirmation #, or Team Name.
The Racer Manual and this website outline all requirements, procedures, and policies for the Grand Traverse Mountain Run race on a regular year. Given the ever-evolving circumstances of the COVID-19 epidemic, all procedures and services are subject to change.
Racers should prepare for the following possible mandates and potential alterations to 2020 GT Mountain Run & Bike races:
- Mandatory face coverings worn at Start Line & Aid Stations.
- Multiple seeded wave starts with delineated start positions.
- Outdoor socially distanced bib pick-up.
- Virtual pre-race briefing held online.
- Aid nutrition reduced to only pre-packaged items.
- Possible elimination, or leisure time restricted Finish Expo.
- Finish meal provided in a to-go fashion.
- Possible elimination of Return Shuttle service.
- Possible elimination, or reduced capacity of Sag Shuttles for cut-off racers.
Pandemic Cancellation Policy:
Should GT event permits be revoked at anytime due to Public Health mandates, we will offer a 50% refund on paid registration fees.
Deferred registration to future GT events (as was offered for the 2020 GT Ski event cancellation) will NOT be an option.

Return transportation may be booked through online race registration. Capacity is limited, no additional shuttles will be added once sold out.
